The Real Ghostbusters have been out of business for a number of years, having moved on from the business. Egon hasn't left it entirely behind as he teaches a paranormal course to 4 young students and Janine.

Which is great until ghosts emerge from New York's underground. With the others gone, the torch is passed to a new team of NY Ghostbusters. Egon guides them (much later on in a way so will Peter, Ray, and Winston) and the new team uses advanced, sometimes improved upon ghostbusting technology.

This second Ghostbusters cartoon was based on some of our real life ghostbusters, the concept of a franchise which stems from our business. Its also loosely based on our hit cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters.
