Well, guys,
I was thinking... Back to the Future is a trilogy, Indiana Jones is a Trilogy (but will have the 4th movie soon), Star Wars was a trilogy but now is TWO trilogies.
Why can't we have a 3rd GB movie?
And the studios thinks in numbers, by the way. They make many 'tests' to see public's acceptance about a product, before they decide to invest in a new one.
For example, the movies' DVD box release. In my opinion, they released the green covered box to see if the product "Ghostbusters" sales well yet.
If you don't know what I'm talking about, I mean THIS box:
I don't know if you got this box in your country, but here, in Brazil, they released it last year (this is why all the informations are completely writen in Portuguese).
If you remember, they already released the movies on DVD, but why release it again, in a new box? And it lost many extras from the 1st DVD release (I own the 2 DVDs from each movie).
And what about the 2 animated series' episodes, added to the GB2's extras (on green box set)? Now, the release of the animated series on DVD... They are checking if they can make investiments on a 3rd GB movie to collect the profits later, on theaters!
And someone could ask me: "why are you thinking this way?" or "how can you be so sure about this?". Easy! Because
the same happened to Star Wars!
If you remember, Lucas released the Classic Trilogy's Special Edition on theaters. He made them with the new special effects and scenes to check what fans say! With the positive "green light" from fans, on theaters, he decided to make the Prequels.
So, I guess we are watching the "test" step. And, if the public answer positively to this test, we could have the GB3 movie on production.
My opinion... Let's see what happens...
See'ya guys!
