Season 1: Episodes 4-6

Postby Spengs » April 8th, 2006, 9:57 am

Saturday mornings from 20 years ago can only be back for so long. Plus this is probably a reason why we need more of a marketing department. This coming Tuesday is my birthday and to celebrate in part Ghostbusters International® is airing two additional episodes along with this week's regularly schedule episode. If that wasn't enough, it just worked out that GBI is running The Real Ghosbusters half a season marathon all week long. Episodes 4, 5, and 6 will probably still be up in next week's update.

We also reorganized our RGB episodes, listing them in order to cause less confusion. We've also added more episode notes, comments, goofs, even references where applicable.

This weekend Slimer Comes Home. Where was he, under a Troll Bridge? Or hiding in the closet? Hopefully its not the one where The Boogieman Cometh.

Notes from the GBI Historian:

The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline and the GBI Timeline places the events of these stories in Year Two, 1984.

"Slimer Come Home":

For Timeline purposes, this episode specifically takes place on May 2, 1984, and would be Winston's 31st birthday.

"Troll Bridge"

Janine's computer is also a TV. Realistically such a broadband/cable type of connection and software shouldn't have been possible in 1986. Maybe Egon invented it. :p

In the mid 80's, many home computers were indeed designed to connect to televisions. We had a Commodore 64 that we connected to a television--the interface was pretty much the same as video game consoles of the time (ie the Atari 2600). Maybe they had her computer hooked up to a "real" TV, and could be switched back and forth when needed.

Wonderful job, austin312gb and Spengs for Boogieman Cometh. Of all the Boogiemen that pops up on the tube, the Real Ghostbusters Boogieman was the scariest. I haven't watched the film Boogieman yet (sorry getting off topic but not on the Boogieman itself.)

Gapu: Never heard of anyone else having a problem downloading "Slimer Come Home." The file should be good, I will check it out. Maybe it had something to do with your internet connection or the school's network. Maybe the episode hadn't downloaded completely.

I'll look into it and report back. As far as I know the file is fine. If you downloaded it, technically speaking "some where along the line" perhaps you got a bad download. As I said I'll check and soon.
