Season 2: Episode 15 - Adventures in Slime and Space

Postby Spengs » July 24th, 2006, 3:16 pm

We know its been a little over a month since the last time we aired a "new" episode of our hit cartoon, The Real Ghostbusters. Now that other existing updates to the site are complete, we can get back to some enjoyable updates, under the guise that we're actually working. In what other job can I spend two hours plus writing about a cartoon that's about 22 minutes in length? Exactly.

Egon invents another piece of ghostbusting technology that doesn't quite work right. Not a problem really until it malfunctions making copies of little Slimers who end up everywhere! Can The Real Ghostbusters figure out how to get their Slimer back before NYC turns into Slimes Square? And the mayor is ready to send them all to Pittsburgh? Either way it sure to be an adventure in slime and space.

Notes from the GBI Historian:

The Ghostbusters Omnibus Timeline and the GBI Timeline places the events of this story in Year Two, 1984.

David Gerrold wrote the Star Trek episode "The Trouble With Tribbles", which the plot of this one does resemble.

It's interesting that one of Egon's ideas in building the plasmic strainer was "disintigrating ghosts...on the spot", the exact same idea he berates Paul Smart for in "Robo-Buster". One can assume that his incident is one of the things that proved the idea impossible. The idea of a molecular destabilizer, mostly to render physical entities suceptible to proton beams, resurfaces in "Egon's Ghost" and "The Boogeyman is Back"
"Like, Totally Ready To Believe You"

Wonderful job, austin312gb and Spengs. Great episode and such. For some reason, when I saw your copy of this episode, it had the Dic Vortex. But when I saw it on the Slimefighters DVD, it had the Dic Kid in Bed. Who cares? but still thanks. Oh and I see austin312gb got this from Teletoon. How do I know? The canadian C8 symbol.

Nothing I can do about DIC logos or anything else that came from these episodes. Since I didn't encode these. If I had my way for nostigic sake I would 'air' the episodes from start to finish with the original commercial breaks or maybe just the cool ones. :p Plus the bumpers, rejoiners, etc until the final credits rolled.
